Obituary For Barbara Lewis
Barbara Lewis, better known as "Maxine" a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025 at the age of 83. She was surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and unforgettable meals that brought everyone together.
Maxine was the heart of her family, a woman of quiet strength, deep compassion and unwavering dedication. She was a mother and grandmother who gave her all, never hesitating to put others first. After working more than 27 years at the Nabisco, Maxine retired not for rest, but to do what she did best: care for those she loved, especially her grandson, whom she helped raise with great pride and love.
Her life was anchored in her faith. For 45 years, Maxine was a faithful member of the choir at Monument of Faith Evangelistic Church, where her voice lifted spirits, and her presence brought comfort. Church wasn't just a place she attended, it was part of her soul, and she served with grace and devotion.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Wright, and her cherished
son, Michael Wright. While their absence was deeply felt, Maxine's strength carried her family forward with courage and love.
She is survived by two sisters, Travestine Tiggs of Chicago, IL and Charlene (Richard)
Lovelace of Little Rock, AR; three children, Ronnie Wright, George Wright, and Tyra
Wright; and one grandchild, William Zephariah Riley. All of whom carry forward her values of strength, and love of good food.
Her love lives on in every shared meal, every family gathering, and every heart she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
