Caldonia Chambers was born on November 30, 1945 to the late Firk and Ida Adams Chambers in Winnsboro, Louisiana.

Caldonia graduated from Franklin Parish Training School then later moved to Chicago, Illinois.

Caldonia married Wallace Bailey, Sr. on June 4, 1966. They were married for 53 years before he passed away on January 26, 2019.

Caldonia was a member of New Progressive Baptist Church, where she served faithfully on the Nurses Board for many years.

Caldonia Chambers Bailey passed away at the age of 78 on August 10, 2024, at Little Company of Mary Hospital at 12:09 pm.

Caldonia's parents, Firk and Ida Chambers; seven sisters, Alice Chambers, Oria Armstrong, Myrtis Williams, Mattie Flemming, Rebecca Jones, Hannah Brown and Eliza Mathews; two brothers, James Chambers and Williams Chambers, all preceded her in death.

Caldonia leaves to cherish her loving memories: son, Wallace Bailey Jr, (Desiree) of Chicago, Illinois; three sisters, Ida Rayford (Levester) Rayville, Louisiana, Georgia Fleming (Harley) of Chicago, Illinois and Leola Blackston of Monroe, Louisiana; three brothers, Firk Chambers, (Rae) of Chicago, Illinois, Henry Chambers of Houston, Texas and Willie Chambers (Debra) of Flint, Michigan; and a host of nieces, nephew, relatives and friends.
