Davell Antoine Holden III, a vibrant and cherished son, brother, and friend, passed away too soon, leaving a void in the hearts of all who knew him. Born in Chicago on March 21, 2009, to Angela A. Birts and Davell Holden Jr., Davell's life was a testament to his passion, intelligence, and leadership.

Davell was a standout student at Thornwood High School, where his dedication earned him a place on the honor roll. He was not only an exceptional student but also a natural athlete with a deep love for basketball. He showcased his talents on the court as a player for Thornwood High School, Meanstreets and Blueprint Hoops. Where he was known for his skill and sportsmanship.

More than his achievements, Davell will be remembered for his role as a big brother to Keelan Jones and as a leader among his peers. His positive influence and compassionate spirit touched the lives of many, and his memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Beyond the basketball court and school, Davell had a great sense of style and a love for shopping. He especially enjoyed these outings with his mother and aunts, often on the hunt for the latest pair of gym shoes to add to his collection. His favorite colors were a classic combination of blue, white, and black. He loved traveling with his family, creating lasting memories, and also enjoyed the adventure of traveling from state to state with his basketball teams.

Davell's joyful spirit and warm heart will be deeply missed by his parents, his brother, and a host of family, friends and teammates. His legacy of kindness, leadership and determination will forever be remembered by those whose lives he touched.

Davell is survived by his loving parents Angela A, Birts and Davell Holden, Jr., stepfather, Keith Jones, and his brother, Keelan Jones, Grandparents: Owen, III and Valerie Birts (Maternal), Davell, Sr. and Tonia Holden (Paternal), step-grandparents, William and Evelyn Jones, two sisters Kali and Kamila Holden, three aunts Ashley, and Arielle Birts, and Jakiera James, four uncles, Owen Birts, IV, Jaren Holden, Jeffrey James and Terry Banks, Jr. and a host of family, friends teammates, and mentors who will forever cherish his memory.

Though his time with us was short Davell's light will never fade. He was a life well-lived, and his love will remain in our hearts forever.

Davell leaves behind a community that admired him and a family that will forever hold him in their hearts.

“Well done, good and faithful servant…. enter into the joy of your lord”. -Matthew 25:23.
