Eddie Collins

Sergeant (Retired), U.S. Army

Eddie Collins was born to the late Orange and Nellie Mae Collins in Hazlehurst, Mississippi on June 28, 1946. He departed this life on June 25, 2023. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Eddie served honorably in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Sergeant.

After returning from Vietnam, Eddie began his career at Inland Steel working there for over 30 years before his retirement. He loved his job and spending time with family. Eddie loved riding bikes and traveling. Throughout the years, he has traveled to numerous countries and states.

Eddies’ experience in the Army played a very important role in his life. He frequently pointed out that the Army taught him the value of discipline, teamwork, and investing in a cause larger than himself. He would often explain to loved ones how these values contributed to his success in life upon returning home from Vietnam. Eddie was survived by close family and friends who loved him dearly.
