Joycelyn Lane-Jones was born August 28, 1953, in Chicago Illinois to her
parents the late Robert Lane-Jr. and Marceline Johnson, Joyce was a
beloved mother, and Nannie, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, and friend.
Pookum/Nanny as she was affectionately called was an outgoing, vibrant
individual who embraced life to the fullest. She had a powerful sense of
family and cherished spending time with her loved ones and friends. Joyce
received her education via Chicago Public and Catholic Schools.
She received her A.A.S degree from Kennedy King College . Then
went to attended Govern. State University to achieve her BS degree in
social work to contribute to others. Joyce attended Salem Baptist Church
under Pastor James T. Meeks since the earlier days of Salem.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Albert Jones, leaves to
cherish her memories her two sons Shango (Karen) and Malique(Jasmine),
2 Granddaughter’s Shykeya and Brittany; 3 Grandsons Shango, Malique,
and Brendan; 9 Great-Grandchildren Elijah, Amir, Amor, Amar, Ador, Ajoi,
Aubrey, Brielle, and Camron. She also leaves behind her sister Rosalind
(Ivan), Nephew Ian, and a host of cousins, family, and friends.
