Obituary For Vanessa Daniels

NO FINAL VIEWING FOLLOWING FUNERAL SERVICE————————————————
Vanessa Ann Daniels was born June 28, 1958 in Chicago, IL to Albert Thomas and Mary Robeson.

Vanessa attended Parkside elementary school and Calumet High School as well as South Shore High School located in Chicago where she graduated. She was known for her loving and caring personality. Vanessa’s wittiness is what caught everyone’s attention. Her spirit lit up the room whenever she walked in. She was also known as the life of the party.

Vanessa met and married Joseph Daniels Sr. in 1976. Together they 2 kids Ezra and Joseph Jr. They later divorced.

Vanessa met Charles G. Cooper in 1992. Together they had 4 kids (Charles), Dymond, DeVanti and Demecio.

Vanessa’s smile would light up a room, coupled with a funny and lighthearted comment. She never shied away from saying hello or striking up a conversation with just about anyone. Her light was contagious, infecting anyone she met. However, Vanessa also enjoyed the simple things. She also loved to dance and would break out in a 2 step, at any given opportunity.

She worked in security most of her life. She was also a tax preparer. Vanessa’s journey into motherhood began early and was an undertaking, that she held in high regard. Vanessa was an incredible mother and grandmother; who instilled that education was key; supporting her children and grandchildren until the very end. There was nothing you could not ask for and there was nothing that she was not willing to give.

Vanessa’s health began to decline in 2018. Her life tragically ended on May 16, 2024. She will be remembered for her parties, contagious smile, kindness, and selflessness. We will truly miss her beautiful soul.

Vanessa truly had a life well lived with laughter, adventure, and most importantly love. Left to continue her legacy are: her children Ezra (Helen) , Joseph, Dymond (Melvin) , DeVanti (Takiera) , Demecio; grandchildren, Dejharria, Dejhanee, Olivia, Jayden, Laila; great grandchildren Damiya, Dakota; sisters, Marion, Fatima; brothers, Derrick, Dwayne, Sean, Laquantis, Lazerick, Hakeem; special friends, Marjorie, Kathy, Charmaine, Bernice, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and beloved ones.

Welcoming her into her next journey are her parents: Albert Thomas and Mary Robeson; long time life partner Charles Cooper; brother Adrian Oglesby; and best friend Ertha Billingsley

Vanessa would tell you all, thank you for all that you have done and would want us to take a shot of Avion in her honor. So, here’s to you, Vanessa! May your spirit soar high and may your laughter and light echo through the halls.
